Vbeam® Laser Treatment

Reveal clearer, more radiant skin with the gold-standard Vbeam® laser, designed to target redness, blood vessels, and more — safely and effectively.

What is the Vbeam® Laser?

The Vbeam® is a pulsed dye laser (PDL) that delivers an intense but gentle burst of light into targeted areas of the skin. The light is absorbed by blood vessels or pigmented areas without damaging the surrounding tissue. As a result, Vbeam® is highly effective for treating redness, vascular lesions, and certain pigmented lesions with minimal discomfort.

At Precision Skin Care Dermatology, we use the Vbeam® Perfecta offering even more precise, comfortable, and efficient treatments.

What Conditions Does Vbeam® Treat?

The Vbeam® laser is versatile and safe for a wide range of skin concerns, including:

  • Rosacea and facial redness

  • Broken capillaries and spider veins (telangiectasias)

  • Port wine stains and vascular birthmarks

  • Angiomas (cherry angiomas, hemangiomas)

  • Red acne scars and post-inflammatory erythema

  • Poikiloderma of Civatte (sun damage on the neck and chest)

  • Stretch marks (early red/purple striae)

  • Bruising after cosmetic procedures

  • Scars (surgical or traumatic) with redness

Vbeam® is safe for all skin types, but special considerations are taken for darker skin tones to minimize risks.

What to Expect During Treatment

  • Treatment Time: Typically 15–30 minutes depending on the size of the area treated

  • Comfort: Most patients describe a mild snapping sensation. A built-in Dynamic Cooling Device (DCD) sprays a cool mist before each laser pulse, enhancing comfort and protecting the skin.

  • Number of Sessions: Some conditions, like angiomas, may clear after a single session. Others, such as rosacea or port wine stains, typically require a series of treatments spaced 4–6 weeks apart for best results.

Downtime and Healing Time

  • Immediate Effects: Treated areas may appear pink, swollen, or slightly bruised for several hours to a few days.

  • Bruising ("Purpura"): Some patients experience pinpoint purpura (temporary purple spots), especially with more aggressive settings. These usually fade within 5–7 days.

  • Post-Treatment Care:

    • Gentle cleansing and moisturizing

    • Sun protection is critical — daily SPF 30+ is a must

    • Avoid strenuous exercise, heat exposure, and alcohol for 24–48 hours

Most patients can return to normal activities the same day with minimal adjustments.

When Will I See Results?

Some improvement is visible within a few days to a week after treatment, especially for vascular lesions. For optimal clearance, a series of treatments may be recommended based on your skin’s needs and the condition being treated.
